【Introduction】

Exercise is very important for the disabled, but the disabled generally do less exercise due to the lack of corresponding support and suitable venues. This section details the support provided by Hong Kong for sports for the disabled, as well as sports organizations for the disabled, hoping to provide the disabled with information needed for various sports.

【Fitness Program for People with Disabilities (LCSD)】

People with disabilities with limited mobility and lack of necessary support generally do less exercise. However, long-term lack of adequate exercise can lead to many undesirable consequences. For example, muscles will shrink due to long-term lack of exercise, which will reduce the mobility of joints, leading to osteoporosis, obesity, and heart disease. The consequences are very serious. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s Fitness Program for People with Disabilities provides a series of exercise suggestions for people with disabilities. It encourages people with disabilities to choose a suitable exercise posture from lying, sitting or standing according to their physical conditions and personal abilities.
