Since the opening of the first sheltered workshop in Hong Kong in 1973, St. James' Settlement has been committed to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for the rehabilitated. We believe that people in rehabilitation, just like us, are valuable members of society, with individual abilities, values and life experiences, personal dignity, and should be respected by society. Rehabilitation persons also have the right to enjoy a quality life, including the pursuit of physical, emotional, and material satisfaction, personal rights and self-determination, as well as opportunities for personal development, interpersonal development, and integration into society. The purpose of our service is to support them to live independently and respectfully in society.

Accessibility description

St. James' Settlement Diversified Community Service Center is equipped with multiple barrier-free facilities, including entrances and exits, passages and accessible toilets. The design fully considers the needs of wheelchairs/persons with reduced mobility. Most of the uneven places are equipped with ramps, and the ramps are relatively flat, so wheelchair users can easily get on and off.

Since the diversified community service center is located on the hillside, it is certain that people with wheelchairs/handicapped persons will get on and off. The staff are kind and courteous, and are happy to provide assistance to wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.
