Introduction
The Tin Hau Temple in Kwai Chung Village, formerly known as the Tin Hau Temple under the Mang Tree in Kwai Chung, was founded in 1796 in Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty and was built by villagers with funds. In the 3rd year of Guangxu (1877), due to disrepair for a long time, many good deeds raised more than 100 yuan in Jinshan foreign silver for reconstruction. The temple was originally located in a low-lying area by the sea. In the 1960s, the government developed the Kwai Chung area into a new town and reclaimed the sea. For this reason, the temple was moved to the side of the Kwai Chung Road, but it was still managed by the Tang clan of Ha Kwai Chung Village, and its incense continued to flourish.
