Che Kung Temple
The current site of the Che Kung Temple in Sha Tin was originally a 300-year-old temple, but it was rebuilt in 1994 to its current appearance. Back then, the villagers believed that Che Gong could protect them from the flood and plague, so they built this temple. According to legend, Che Gong was a general marshal of the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279 AD), who quelled a rebellion in southern China. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, Emperor Song went south to seek refuge, and Marshal Cha continued to escort him to Hong Kong and stationed in Saigon. Later, it was regarded as a god by Taoism and was enshrined in temples.......
