Introduction

Wun Sha Street is a street in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, located in Tai Hang District. Three days before and after the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, Huansha Street is one of the main venues for the Fire Dragon Dance in Tai Hang.

Wun Sha Street is adjacent to a water hole in the past, allowing local residents to slap on the water's edge, hence the name of the road. A section of the water hole on Wun Sha Street disappeared in the 1960s; the northern section of it was later called the Tai Hang Nullah, and it has now been covered as "Fire Dragon Path".

Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance
More

- A huge fire dragon appears in the downtown area of Hong Kong! This is by no means a movie plot, but a century-old tradition during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Every year from the 14th to the 16th of the lunar calendar, starting from the Dakeng Lotus Palace, dancing fire dragons shuttle through the streets, and the quiet alleys on weekdays become sparkling with fire.
