Introduction

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park is located at the north of East Street in Sheung Wan, near the vents of the Western Harbour Crossing. According to historical records, this piece of land was originally the sea facing the triangular wharf, but was later reclaimed and used as park land. According to historical records, Mr. Sun Yat-sen was persecuted by the Manchu and Qing government for launching a revolution, and was later expelled by the British colonial government of Hong Kong. Since then, when Mr. Sun Yat-sen passed through Hong Kong many times to and from the mainland, he could only meet Hong Kong comrades and supporters on board. The place where his boats berth is the current location of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park, and the park is named accordingly for commemoration. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park is also the first park in Hong Kong named after Father Fang.
