Introduction
St. Andrew's Church is the oldest Christian church in Kowloon. It was built with a donation from Sir Chater in 1904, and the foundation was laid by the Anglican Bishop of Victoria Hoyosser. The first three buildings constructed in St. Andrew's Church are of the Gothic Revival style, with red brick exterior walls, pointed arched windows, curved window grilles and stained glass windows. The church has undergone many restoration projects, and in 2006 was awarded the "Excellence Award for the Conservation of Cultural Relics and Historic Sites in the Asia-Pacific Region" by UNESCO.
