Introduction
Hong Shengye's Birthday (the 13th day of the second lunar month) is a festival to commemorate King Hong Sheng. According to legend, King Hong Sheng was a heavy minister of the Tang Dynasty, whose surname was Hong Mingxi, was an official of Panyu assassin. He was proficient in astronomy and geography and often helped businessmen and fishermen. In order to commemorate him and pray for shelter, fishermen along the coast built temples and worshipped him as the god of the sea. Hung Shing Temple in Ap Lei Chau, which has a history of more than 240 years, will hold celebrations around Hung Christmas. You can enjoy dragon and lion dance performances, birthday parades and magical performances in Ap Lei Chau.
