Introduction

Since the English "Court" is similar to the Cantonese "Ge", it is also called "Da Ge Lou". There were only 3 courts in the early days of its opening, and it was a great waste to be criticized. At that time, the court was presided over by a chief prosecutor and a Supreme Court judge. If anyone dissatisfied with the judgment of one of them, a collegiate panel of the two will conduct an appeal hearing. During the Japanese Occupation, the building was changed to the headquarters of the Gendarmerie Department, and interrogation rooms were added. After the war, the number of judges increased. Compartments were added to the building in the 1970s to accommodate a total of 7 courts. The space was insufficient, so it was planned to relocate. In 1978, the structure of the building was damaged by the Metro Chater Road project. It was closed for emergency repairs and moved to the District Court of Victoria. In 1984, it was moved to the current location of Court Road
