Introduction
Chater Garden is located on Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong Island. It was opened on October 20, 1978. It is one of the important parks in Hong Kong, named after Sir Kitsch Paul Chater. Sir Chater is a woodball, horse racing enthusiast, financier, philanthropist, porcelain and art collector. The original site of Chater Garden was formerly known as the Hong Kong Cricket Club. It was built in 1851 and has a wooden clubhouse and a wooden court. Before the club lease ended in 1971, it became a topic of social and media at that time.
