Introduction
The "Caritas Computer Workshop" established by the Social Welfare Department in 2001 is to provide computer hardware and software training courses and job training for low-educated young people receiving CSSA. As part of the training, all trainees are required to participate in voluntary work, repairing and upgrading old computers, and donating them to non-profit organizations or poor families.
Since 2003, it has been funded by the Environmental Protection Department to establish a computer recycling program. While reducing computer waste, it can also transfer reusable computers to those in need, so that more people can benefit. Computers that are not suitable for reuse will be disassembled and sorted in accordance with the EPA’s instructions, and sold to recyclers for recycling, and all income will be used as subsidies for the activities.
